Will Perkins, RPT, is East Idaho’s leading piano expert and a graduate of the prestigious North Bennet Street School in Boston. While completing the school’s renowned two-year piano technology program, he served as a technician for the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, apprenticing with professionals from Juilliard, the Royal Conservatory, the Peabody Conservatory, and Steinway & Sons.
After completing his training, Will returned to Idaho Falls, where he now provides expert piano tuning, voicing, and repair throughout East Idaho and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In 2019, he was personally chosen by Roger Baker, RPT, to continue his legacy upon retirement—a testament to Will’s skill, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
He has since worked with the Idaho Falls Symphony, Civic Auditorium, Colonial Theater, Piano Gallery, and the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts, along with many of the region’s leading teachers, artists, and private clients. He is also the only technician fully endorsed by the late Jerry F. Clark, a distinction he holds with deep respect.
As a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild, Will has served as Vice President of the Salt Lake City Chapter, a member of the PTG Institute Team, and one of the few Certified Tuning Examiners nationwide.
Will’s work reflects both technical mastery and a genuine love of music. Each piano he services receives individualized attention to ensure it performs at its highest potential—whether restoring a vintage grand or refining the touch of a modern upright.
Will has had the pleasure of working for numerous artists as a piano technician:
